I have been living and working in this community for over 40 years and early on became concerned about our regional water resources. After I retired from UC Santa Barbara after 35 years, I felt it was time to do my part to ensure clean and reliable water for our families, agriculture and local businesses in the Goleta Valley.
I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve this community since my appointment to the Board of Directors of the Goleta Water Board 18 months ago.
Since being appointed, I’ve worked hard to understand the scope and complexity of our interconnected water supply system, which includes Lake Cachuma, State Water Project, recycled water and water pumped from the Goleta Groundwater Basin. I have contributed to the discussion and helped influence important decisions of the Board since my appointment that will guarantee long-term stability of these resources.
As the District changes focus from conservation and drought response to the new challenges that lie ahead, we need committed leaders, like myself, to guide our decisions. I ask for your vote in November to help me continue to represent you and help preserve our unique and beautiful community.
I look forward to continuing to work with my Goleta Water Board colleagues, including Board President, Lauren Hanson, who is running for re-election.
I would be honored to have your vote for Goleta Water District's Board of Directors on Nov 3, 2020.
